Features not subject to complaint:

Leather is a natural product, therefore it has all the characteristics of its origin. Unique and individual markings may only appear on one piece of fabric and should not be considered defects. They give the leather a unique
a unique identity: scratches, bumps, scars, abrasions, veins.

CHARACTERISTICS OF NATURAL LEATHER

Genuine leather is a natural product – it breathes, is warm, and has individual features that enhance its natural charm and beauty.

Therefore, traces such as small scars, veins, scratches, wrinkles, pigment errors, as well as surfaces with different structures, even within one patch, will be visible. These characteristic features in no way diminish its natural beauty, on the contrary, they are signs that every buyer should look for, as they confirm the natural class of the leather. A living animal is exposed and exposed to various environmental influences; natural leather has properties characteristic of its originality – these are individual features and traces accumulated gradually over the years. They cannot be called defects and do not shorten the “life” of the leather – in fact, they improve its appearance and allow it to be distinguished from imitation leather.
Over time, during use, the leather may become abraded – which is normal during use, thus emphasizing the worn surface (shade of patina).

TAKING CARE OF THE LEATHER

As we know, leather is produced from bovine (cow) skin, so we must treat it (as “once lived”) with careful attention to ensure its longevity.

Just like human skin, it tends to dry out and crack if exposed to too high temperatures. Therefore, you should avoid placing leather furniture close to radiators or fire (fireplace), and avoid direct sunlight, as the sun’s rays undoubtedly affect the color of the furniture. Do not use detergents or inappropriate care products (especially those based on alcohol, gasoline or solvents). Stain removers (stain removers) – they may permanently damage the skin.

In the tannery, the leather is subjected to complex processing processes that deprive it of its ability to regenerate. Therefore, moisturizing substances are used during preparation to make the skin soft and elastic. However, during use, these substances evaporate, leaving the skin without protection against harmful factors such as changes in temperature, humidity and, above all, salt (contained e.g. in human sweat), which cause the skin to dry out, leading to its hardening and cracking. That’s why it’s so important to “help” the leather regenerate. Very often, we also experience leather damage. All kinds of stains, scratches, scratches and damage caused by water or temperature significantly limit the long-term use of the leather.

CARE NOTES

The basic way to care for leather products is to vacuum them regularly, which significantly reduces the accumulation of dirt. Dry vacuuming is recommended (preferably using dust-attracting cloths). In order for the leather to retain its properties as long as possible, it should be periodically subjected to conservation treatments. Depending on the intensity of use, such treatments should be used 2-4 times a year, but breaks should not be longer than 6 months (maximum durability of the impregnating coating). Please remember to remove intense dirt and stains that arise during use as soon as possible.

Protection and care of leather furniture

Both natural leather and eco-leather have a protective layer, but using inappropriate cleaning agents such as creams or sprays containing kerosene, alcohol, ammonia or solvents may result in damage and changes in the color of the leather.

  • To avoid abrasion of the face, gently wipe the entire surface with a damp cloth (note: do not rub!).
  • Use only lukewarm water. High temperature may cause permanent damage to the leather surface.
  • Do not soak! – it may happen that the water will discolor the skin.
  • Do not use detergents, chemicals, especially those based on alcohol, gasoline or solvents
  • Remember that fat, oil and sweat can dissolve the dye, causing discoloration.
  • Hand cream contributes to the destruction of the leather finish (most often around the armrests where the hands usually rest, the leather may discolor or give the impression of a cracked structure). Read carefully the information provided on leather care products to check whether a given product can be used for this purpose. type of leather
